Loan term

A loan term is the length of time over which a loan is scheduled to be repaid, whether measured in months or in years. A longer term lowers the monthly payment but usually means more interest paid altogether; a shorter term does the opposite.

It is worth checking the monthly figure and the total cost side by side, because the option that is easier on the budget each month is not automatically the cheaper loan.
